RF Shielded Room

We DMC manufacture RF shielded room with PAN type Galvanized 2mm sheet joined together on all sides with nuts and bolts and RF shielding gaskets sandwiched in between them. Technical specifications of our RF shielded rooms are as follows:

  • DMC-PAN series modular PAN-type shielding system is made up of 2mm thick Zinc coated cold rolled sheet metal panels as per ASTM A653
  • These Galvanized Iron panels are welded on all corners and spray galvanized for long life high performance 25.4 mm TCS gaskets are used between panel joints and M10 bolts are fastened in 100 mm gap for excellent RF shielding attenuation
  • Our modular construction of shield room is flexible in design and ideal for relocation. It can be custom made to any dimension and design to our customer’s specific requirement.
  • All parts are precisely made in factory, so no welding or cutting required during installation, barring few exceptions or project requirement
  • DMC shielding system provides excellent RF shielding attenuation from 14 kHz to 40 GHz

Frequently Asked Questions

An RF shielded room is a specially designed enclosure that blocks external electromagnetic signals. It creates a controlled environment for accurate RF and electromagnetic testing.

Industries such as telecommunications, defense, electronics, automotive, and research laboratories use them. They are essential for RF testing and EMI/EMC measurements.

Most RF shielded rooms support a wide range from kHz frequencies up to 40 GHz or higher. The range depends on the design and shielding materials used.

Common materials include galvanized steel panels, copper sheets, RF gaskets, and conductive doors. These materials help block electromagnetic signals effectively.

The conductive walls, floor, and ceiling create a Faraday cage that blocks external signals. This prevents outside interference from affecting test results.

High-quality RF shielded rooms typically provide 80 dB to 120 dB or more shielding effectiveness. This ensures strong protection against external electromagnetic interference.

Yes, they can be customized in size, shielding performance, ventilation, and equipment integration. This allows them to support different RF and EMC testing requirements.

Tests such as EMC testing, wireless device evaluation, RF measurements, and signal isolation testing can be performed. They are also used for research and development work.

They are installed using modular shielded panels and specialized doors and filters. Regular maintenance includes checking shielding integrity, RF gaskets, and ventilation systems.

An RF shielded room blocks external electromagnetic signals but may still have internal reflections. An anechoic chamber includes RF absorbers to eliminate reflections and simulate free-space conditions.
